IMS is home to more than 100 students from across the country and world. Boarders live in six different dorms across our 600-acre campus in the southernmost part of the Berkshires, and given our close proximity to New York City and access to the outdoors, there is never a dull moment. Did we mention that our mountain is literally in our backyard?
Our residential life program includes 5- and 7-day boarding options for students in grades 5 through 9. Children are cared for by full-time residential faculty, many of whom are raising their families and pets right here on campus!
Our students benefit from a balance of structure and independence that teaches them how to be responsible and respectful community members; how to explore their individuality, passions, and interests; how to build study habits for success in secondary school; and how to have fun. We’re constantly offering new weekend trips to provide exposure to new things and to get kids out of their comfort zones. Whether it's an outdoor drive-in movie experience right here on campus—complete with food trucks!—a visit to Six Flags, or a day trip to the Big Apple, the opportunities are endless.
We offer around-the-clock care for our boarding students. The Residential Life Office, in collaboration with Dorm Heads, Dorm Parents, and the Health Center and Counseling Office, plan and implement ever-evolving programs to meet the needs of our students and to create a warm atmosphere that truly feels hike a home away from home.
