Co-ed junior boarding and day school for students in grades pre-kindergarten through nine
Through the elective film curriculum at IMS, students learn to write, direct, film, edit, and even star in their own IndiMountain Films productions. The alumni network is strong; for instance, the alumnus who won an Academy Award for directing Rocky mentored an IMS student who now attends the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts on a merit scholarship.

The film department holds an annual film festival that not only showcases a variety of student shorts, but also celebrates the art and craft of filmmaking by inviting notable directors, writers, and actors to come share their work and experiences in the business with our school community. We have been fortunate to host guests such as John Avildsen ‘51, Jim Becket ‘51,  Mamie Gummer ‘98, Ed Herrmann P’11, Kristen Johnston, Charles Randolph 'P'22'26, Natasha Richardson P’10’11,  and  Campbell Scott.
