Health Center

Our cheerful nursing staff provides supportive, clinical care for students in our Health Center. Our physician typically holds clinic on Monday and Thursday to see students for health issues.

In addition to offering a mother’s touch while treating minor ailments, our highly skilled nurses also provide immediate care for emergencies. Students going off campus for emergency treatment at nearby Sharon Hospital are always accompanied by an adult chaperone.

Counseling Department

Seeking support and knowing how to advocate for yourself and others is something we teach our students at IMS. We create a safe, caring, supportive community filled with a variety of people who provide assistance to our students at various times throughout their development.

IMS offers counseling support to students or groups of students as needed. There are two counselors as part of the full-time faculty who have offices on campus and are available to work with students throughout the day and at various times during the evening. This provides a setting for students to discuss private information in a confidential setting. Our goal is to help students manage their lives and make meaningful and productive choices.

Given the demands of the student body, weekly in-school counseling/therapy is offered to boarding students only and is not billed to the parents. If it is determined that a day student needs ongoing weekly counseling, the counselors will help families find appropriate local resources in the community that can support that student. There may be circumstances as well when a boarding student would benefit from a therapist outside of the school. In these instances, parents will be billed directly by the therapist. The counselors can serve as a school liaison for the parents and the local therapist if necessary.
