Dave Gargill is a two-time National Magazine Award nominee whose work has appeared in Harper’s Magazine, GQ, The National, and O: The Oprah Magazine, among other publications. A member of Kenyon College’s class of 2000, Dave earned a joint degree in English and Political Science. Since joining Indian Mountain, he’s relished his role teaching English, helping students become able writers and analyzers of literature, and serving as the Department Chair. As a former college athlete (soccer and lacrosse), Dave supports the IMS athletic program by coaching the Boys Varsity Soccer Team. He draws on his own experience as a boarding student (Pomfret ’96) in his role as a residential affiliate in the dorms. In September 2019, Dave assumed administrative responsibilities, serving as the Director of Strategic Initiatives. He lives in Lakeville, with his wife, Emily, son, Miles, and daughter, Lilly.
