Aly Morrissey joined the IMS community in the fall of 2017 as the school’s Director of Communications. In 2021, she transitioned into the role of Chief of Staff and provides communication, operational, and strategic support to the Head of School. For more than a decade, Aly worked as an administrator in independent schools in the US and abroad. Prior to joining IMS, Aly was the Director of Communications at The Fessenden School in Newton, MA. She also worked as the Assistant Director of Communications at The Governor’s Academy in Byfield, MA and the Web & Publications Manager at the Leysin American School in Switzerland.

Aly earned her B.A. in Journalism from Quinnipiac University. She began her career as a writer and editorial assistant for the Boston Herald, and as a sound board operator at a Boston-area radio station. Aly later brought her editorial experience to Major League Lacrosse, where she oversaw the marketing and public relations for the league and its eight teams. When Aly accepted her first job in the educational landscape, she quickly realized that independent schools are special places to learn, work, and grow. She lives in Millbrook, NY with her husband and two children.
