Aly Morrissey joined the IMS community in the fall of 2017 as the School’s Director of Communications. Her 10 years of writing, editing, and marketing experience include working at independent schools in the United States and abroad. Most recently, Aly served as the Director of Communications at The Fessenden School in West Newton, MA, where she wrote and edited the parent and alumni magazine and oversaw all print and electronic communications. She also worked as the Assistant Director of Communications at The Governor’s Academy and the Web & Publications Manager at the Leysin American School in Switzerland.

Aly earned her B.A. in Journalism from Quinnipiac University. She began her career as a writer and editorial assistant for the Boston Herald, and as a sound board operator at a Boston-area radio station. Aly later brought her editorial experience to Major League Lacrosse, where she oversaw the marketing and public relations for the league and its eight teams. When Aly accepted her first job in the educational landscape, she quickly realized that independent schools are special places to learn, work, and grow. Her passion for creative storytelling, technology, and writing enable her highlight the unique stories of students, faculty, and alumni, particularly as they relate to 21st century education.
