Amy Vorenberg has worked in independent schools for her entire professional career, spanning over thirty years. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a B.A. in English, Amy received an M.S. in early childhood education from Wheelock College and received a C.A.G.S. through Harvard Graduate School of Education in Educational Leadership. . She has been teaching and learning ever since! Amy has taught kindergartners, first, second, and third graders, as well as serving as a Lower School division head and Head of School. Her favorite subject to teach is math: she loves puzzles, games, and playing cribbage! Amy’s family is a family of educators: her husband, Tom, is a middle school history teacher (also working at IMS!) and her daughter, Ella, is a fifth-grade teacher at an independent school in NYC. As a family, the Vorenbergs love to hike in the woods of their hometown, Norfolk, CT, with their dog, Jonesie. Amy also loves cooking for friends, playing golf, watching baseball, and skiing. Her favorite thing to do is to spend time with her extended family, eating, enjoying sing-alongs, and laughing together!
