Circus Skills with BerkCirque

Ages: 6-10

Instructor: Jill Flemming
Campus: Lower Campus

Hours: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm 

Cost: $450

Description: This 1-week camp session is designed for learning basics and further developing specific circus skills. Each day begins with a friendly greeting, a vigorous warm-up, and a game. Campers improve strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, body positivity, and confidence as they rotate through a series of circus learning stations. They practice and explore balancing skills (tight wire, unicycling, stilt walking, rolling globes, spooner and balance boards), juggling (feathers, plates, diablo, devil sticks, bean bags & balls) tumbling, and theatrical clowning. All participants have an opportunity to choose an area of interest on which to focus and improve as they work toward accomplishing specific goals. Everyone works individually, in pairs,

 small groups, and as an entire circus community.

Adventure Theater Workshop

Ages: 5-10

Instructor: Danny Tieger
Campus: Lower Campus

Hours: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm 

Cost: $275

Description: Students will learn the elements of storytelling with games, writing exercises, and tons of silliness. The week, which will take place outside, will culminate with a performance sent home for families to enjoy. This camp runs Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Art Camp

Instructor: Shantel Hanniford
Campus: Lower Campus
Hours: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Cost: $275
Description: Provide your child with the tools to create and unlock hours of exploration and play. Our program provides your child with time to explore art (printmaking, sculpture, fiber arts, painting), encouraging them to go longer and broader with their explorations, thoughts, and skills. Your child will leave our program having been exposed to contemporary and historical artists in varied disciplines. He/she will be primed and ready to create, dream, visualize art, and conjure up projects from all you expose them to in summer.

  • Week 1 — July 12 – July 16
  • Week 2 — July 19 – July 23

Lacrosse Camp

Ages: Rising 4th-6th Graders (Week 1); Rising 7th-9th Graders (Week 2)
Coaches: Eliza Statile, Mallory Toolan, Max Abendroth
Campus: Upper Campus
Hours: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (Week 1); 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (Week 2)
Cost: $325 (Week 1, Half-Day); $450 (Week 2, Full-Day)
Description: Join former collegiate lacrosse players Eliza Statile, Mallory Toolan, and Max Abendroth on the IMS Upper Campus for a week of lacrosse training and instruction. Students will hone their skills and increase their knowledge of the sport. No prior lacrosse experience required.

  • Week 1 — July 5 – July 9 (for rising 4th-6th graders, half-day)
  • Week 2 — July 12 – July 16 (for rising 7th-9th graders, full-day)

Nature Camp

Ages: 4-10
Instructor: Catie Nania
Campus: Lower Campus
Hours: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Cost: $275
Description: This camp is designed to bring your children back to a time where life was a little less structured. Major daily activities include hiking, nature walks, exploring, crafts, picnic snacks, games, journal writing, scavenger hunts, and supervised play.
