Secondary School Advising
When the time comes for our students to begin their search for a secondary school, we are here to guide them through each step of the process.
Students first work with our Director of Secondary School Advising, Lisa Schmitt, to establish goals and determine what “right fit” means to them. This is a very individualized process for each and every student at IMS. Based on these goals, families work to create a balanced list of secondary schools. With goals and a list set, our students then have access to a series of intensive programs to support their application process:
- Mini-Fairs that bring over 80 secondary schools to campus
- Q&A Panels with Directors of Admission from top secondary schools
- Visits from admissions representatives throughout the year
- Interview practice sessions
- Online SSAT practice course
- General application support from start to finish
Our graduates are dynamic, confident, and impactful members of their high school communities. They attend a diverse range of competitive secondary schools, finding success in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in life.
