Faculty Opportunities

​​IMS seeks a full-time Math Teacher for its grade 6-9 academic program. This position begins in March 2024 and includes working as a member of our Residential Life program and as a seasonal athletic coach. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ways in which inclusive and equitable practices inform their approach to education and learning. Indian Mountain School is currently accepting applications for full-time Upper Campus (Grade 5-9) teachers. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of children’s academic, social, and emotional development. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is required, and a minimum of two years teaching or related experience is preferred. Full-time Upper Campus positions also include responsibilities in the athletics and residential life divisions. On-campus housing may be available for interested candidates.

Indian Mountain School is seeking part-time academic tutors at our Grades 5-9 Campus. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of children’s academic, social, and emotional development, with experience specifically from a variety of learning backgrounds. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is required, and a minimum of two years teaching, tutoring, or related experience is preferred. Send resume and cover letter to Alex Hodosy.

Coaching Opportunities

Indian Mountain School seeks qualified athletics team coaches in a variety of sports for its grades 5-9 Upper Campus Athletic Program. Coaches report to the Director of Athletics and work with a co-coach or head coach. We are currently seeking coaches for the Winter and Spring seasons.

Coaching philosophies that support team growth and sportspersonship are required. Athletic and/or coaching backgrounds in hockey, swimming, skiing, and lacrosse are helpful, but not required, as is a Connecticut Public Service License endorsement.

IMS seeks an experienced leader and strategic thinker to serve as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The full-time, exempt position is open July 1, 2024.

The CFO is a senior member of the IMS leadership team reporting directly to the Head of School and is responsible for the development, oversight and administration of all the financial and business affairs and the operation of the School. Indian Mountain School seeks a dynamic, experienced, school leader to champion our Equity, Inclusion and Belonging initiatives, PreK-9. The Director of EIB influences all facets of school life from curriculum and pedagogy to athletics and the arts. This is a full-time administrative position with a balance of duties that will involve some classroom teaching, coaching, and/or residential life duties, etc., as is appropriate given full time status and experience. IMS seeks a creative and motivated individual to support the daily operations of the communications department and tell the Indian Mountain School (IMS) story in compelling ways. This individual would manage the school’s digital content and collaborate across departments to make a positive impact on recruitment and retention while supporting institutional goals and its strategic plan. The IMS Lower School is searching for a caring individual who enjoys supervising young children in and overseeing fun and artistic activities to join our Afterschool team. The position works with the Afterschool Program Director and other assistants to create a pleasant, joyful, and safe atmosphere for all students.

Duties include assisting the Director from 3:00-5:15 pm with responsibilities such as greeting children, setting up activities, keeping areas neat and organized, monitoring the classroom and play areas outside to ensure safety at all times, and establishing a pleasant and efficient atmosphere with parents during pickup time. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree are preferred, and candidates must be able to work outside in cold weather and inclement conditions to monitor outdoor play and watch sports games.

Indian Mountain School seeks part-time RN nurses: during day-time hours Monday-Saturday for the school year, and/or evenings, including weekends. 

Ideal candidates should possess strong patient care assessment, critical thinking, communication and computer skills and function as a team member. A CT Licensure is required. School health experience optimal, but not essential.
