Faculty Opportunities

Indian Mountain School is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time position as Director of Communications. The Director of Communications is responsible for the ongoing management and direction of parent communications, print and digital communications, institutional branding, promotion of school events, and media relations. A member of the administrative leadership team and the risk management team, the Director of Communications will report to the Chief of Staff, partner closely with the Director of Marketing, and work with other school administrators and their staff.

The Indian Mountain School is searching for an Early Childhood/Elementary Music teacher to teach grades Pre-K to Grade 4 twice weekly in 30-minute sessions. We seek candidates with a Bachelor of Music in Education or with a specialty in Orff/Kodaly and or Dalcroze Method. The ideal candidate will also be able to teach beginning strings, recorder, and chorus. Approximately six hours per week of instruction.

Indian Mountain School has an opening for a part-time Orton Gillingham tutor at our Lower School. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of children’s academic, social, and emotional development, with experience specifically in literacy development for students from a variety of learning backgrounds. Candidates should be flexible, joyful, and able to jump in where needed, have a collaborative nature, and take an optimistic approach to problem solving. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree and Orton Gillingham instruction certification is required and a minimum of two years teaching or related experience is preferred. Staff Opportunities

Indian Mountain School seeks part-time RN nurses during day-time hours Monday-Saturday for the school year, as well as be available to be called to fill in on an “as-needed basis” due to absences on the nursing staff.

Ideal candidates should possess strong patient care assessment, critical thinking, communication and computer skills and function as a team member. A CT Licensure is required. School health experience optimal, but not essential.
