Devon played her best game of the season in the varsity girls’ soccer team’s loss against Westover on Wednesday.  The momentum ebbed and flowed between both teams during the match as each struggled to maintain ball control and attack the opponent’s net.  Devon played extremely aggressive offense throughout the game and scored two IMS goals.  Tyla also scored a goal for the Falcons by hustling after a ball, driving it through a congested group of defenders, and speed past them for an uncontested shot into the net.

The most outstanding Falcon defensive player was Lyla.  She took over duties at stopper for this game and fought ferociously to contain the Westover attack.  Coach Neary commented after the game that Lyla “stopped balls, charged the opponents, and replaced her teammates well.”

Toward the end of the second half, Westover was able to tire the Falcon players and take home the victory.  IMS will work on conditioning during the next few practices and prepare themselves for the next match on Friday at Millbrook.
