The IMS Cross Country team competed in the 41st annual Canterbury School Invitational meet on Saturday September 21st, International Peace Day. 23 Falcon runners competed in a field of 90 total athletes from private schools from across the state of Connecticut in a 2.1 mile race. Andrew Spiegel placed 3rd in a time of 12:03 (5:44 mile pace), Sam Humes placed 14th with a time of 13:16, Nate Smith was 15th in a time of 13:18, and Jack Gottsegen (24th) and Walter Krissel (32nd) rounded out the top five male finishers for the Falcons. On the female side, Annabelle Burns led the way for the Falcons finishing 2nd with a time of 14:28 (6:53 mile pace), Emma Smith placed 4th with a time of 14:42, and Bea Kiggen finished 5th in a time of 14:48. The Falcons were the only team to place three runners in the top 10, and all 23 Falcon runners improved on their times from their first race of the season.

In honor of International Peace Day, the Falcon runners formed a Peace Sign on the starting line prior to the race.
