The IMS varsity baseball team played an excellent defensive game on Wednesday but were shut out at Rumsey, 5-0.  Tim Haan led off the game with a single, but that represented the team’s only hit for the day.  It was a disappointing day at the plate.  Fortunatley, the two Falcon pitchers, Henry and Chris, did a great job and managed to allow only one run following the first inning.  In addition, the team enjoyed awesome defensive plays from Ben, Jon, and Chris.  Ben made a fantastic spinning throw off a well fielded ball to get the out at first from third, while Jon threw out a runner trying to score from third on a great throw from center field.  Chris contributed a running catch from the outfield.  Once their bats come alive, the team feels they will be in a good position to win.

The team plays their next game against Berkshire on Friday, May 13.
