In their second contest against Salisbury School, IMS varsity baseball came into the game with a renewed intensity.  IMS held the lead in the game through the first three innings and staged a minor comeback in the fifth and final inning of play.

Chris started the game pitching.  He held the older and more experienced Salisbury line-up to two runs in his first three innings, until Salisbury’s bats awakened in the fourth, scoring another six runs.  Chris was effective at keeping the ball low and causing several weak ground balls and infield flies until he tired in the fourth inning.  Colin relieved Chris, pitching an efficient inning and a third.

The Falcons started the game with live bats.  They opened the game with a four run first inning, including a home run to right center by Luke.  In the fourth inning, IMS capitalized on a Salisbury error and, with a timely hit by John, scored an additional two runs.

This game demonstrated marked improvement from the Falcons’ previous trip to Salisbury, where they were handily defeated by the high school junior varsity team.  In this meeting, the Falcon’s matched or outplayed their opponents in all but one inning.
