At the midpoint of the winter season, many teams are already at the top of their game!

The Varsity Boys Basketball team has won four of their first five games, with victories over Salisbury, Kent, Berkshire and Hotchkiss Thirds’ programs, as well as Foote School. Their defense has been top notch, and big offensive contributions from Kayo Wiggins, Alex Liang, and Isaac Kante have helped keep the team at arms length from their opponents. The team also finished with a 3-2 record and a third place finish at the Greenwich Country Day Invitational. With victories over Rumsey Hall, New Canaan Country School and Fairfield Country Day, the team was able to earn enough points to earn a podium spot at the very competitive tournament. Kayo Wiggins all scorers in the tournament with a combined 62 points.

The JV Boys Basketball team currently holds a 3-2 record, with a victories over Mizzentop, Rudolf Steiner and Washington Montessori. They dropped their first contest to Rudolf Steiner as well as a loss to Rumsey Hall, but the team is clearly improving having won three of their last four games.

The Girls Basketball team is still searching for their first victory, but they have gotten solid contributions from returners Ore Tejuoso, Maria Victoria-Liberati, as well as newcomer Maddy Lodowski.

The Ice Hockey program has endured a number of cancellations due to inclement weather, and each team is just getting into the flow of their season. The JV Hockey team has dropped a pair of games to Rumsey Hall, while tying Fairfield Country Day and beating Rippowam Cisqua. The Varsity team also notched a 6-0 victory against Rippowam Cisqua, while dropping a close game to Trinity-Pawling by a score of 2-5.

The Squash team is getting into the thick of their schedule. Having played tough competition in Albany Academy, Berkshire, Millbrook and Hotchkiss. They have been mostly even with their competition, and they will be sending the top 8 of their ladder to the Eaglebrook tournament this Saturday.

The Swimming team is off to a fast start, placing a number of swimmers in the top ten at each of their last to meets. They had the most top 10 finishers in their last meet at Waterbury, taking on West Side School, North End School, and Wamogo High School.

The Varsity Ski Race team captured a victory in their first Slalom race of the year, defeating Rumsey Hall and Washington Montessori. Theo Stiffler, and Jin Chey finished in 1st and 2nd place respectively.

The Dance team has been working on the different dance techniques and are in the midst of preparations for the end of year show at the Winter Sports Awards, while Recreational Skiing & Snowboarding has enjoyed a number of great days on the slopes!
