This past week saw the Falcons athletics teams’ games and competitions begin in earnest with many impressive performances across the board.


The Volleyball team followed up a gutsy performance the week before with two more tough games against Taft and Hotchkiss. Early in the season, Isabella Pearman and Sophie Kim have emerged as leaders for the squad.


Girls Varsity Soccer played a close game at Renbrook on Wednesday followed up by a great team win over Berkshire on Friday. Keeper Ore Tejuoso had a strong performance in net while Midfielder Ellie Traggio netted a hat trick to propel the Falcons to victory.


Meanwhile, Boys Varsity Soccer had a dominant performance on the pitch with an 8-2 statement over Salisbury on Friday, and fell to a physical Rumsey Hall 0-3 on Monday.


JV Boys Soccer traveled to Berkshire Country Day, where they overcame a first half deficit to claim a 4-2 victory. In their second game of the year, they defeated Renbrook 7-4, behind strong defensive play from Frederick Coulibaly.


Middle School Soccer opened up their season with a 2-3 loss against a strong Washington Montessori team. Alex Huber played strong in net, while Giaco Traggio netted two early goals. In the Dutchess Day Tournament, Riggs made it to the semi-final round and lost after a winning and tying a game in group play.


Cross Country competed in their first ever Rhino Run at Taft School and placed two runners in the top twenty five. Mason Zhao led the way with a 13th place finish, while Drew Portela finished behind him at 22nd.

Developmental Golf spent their time between the IMS range and Hotchkiss, and they will be traveling to Canaan Country Club to play in the coming weeks.

Outdoors Club has been working tirelessly on managing the ropes course, while Flag Football has started to develop their own identity and scheme for their new look 7-on-7 style of play.
