The Indian Mountain volleyball team hosted the Hotchkiss junior varsity for a scrimmage on Friday.  Although Hotchkiss had juniors and seniors among their team members, the Falcon girls held their own as they worked to improve communication on the court before the beginning of the season next Wednesday.  The IMS athletes did well serving and passing, putting together some nice combinations to get some successful hits.  The girls also were very strong serving during the match.  Fuko and Lulu had several consecutive unreturned serves, accumulating big points for the Falcons.  Fuko also joined Avian in taking charge as starting setters, while Mackenzie and Yujin stepped up as their back-ups.  Jenna, Kimmie, and Avian dominated net play for the Falcons.  The most improved performance came from Alice; she was particularly impressive with her energy and willingness to dive on the floor to save the ball.  The match ended with the final set going into extra points.  The girls first official game of the season will be played next Wednesday at Indian Mountain against Oakwood Friends School.
