The Falcon girls scored two goals and played excellent defense on Wednesday to win the opening game of the season by defeating Renbrook 2-0.  Alex I. recorded her first varsity soccer shutout by making smart agressive decisions as she guarded the net.  Her play in goal helped the team remain confident as they fought to win the battle for ball posession throughout the match.

The Falcon offense was led by the excellent play of Courtney, Tyla, and Tess.  Courtney rushed the goal at every opportunity and scored a goal off a great rebound.  Tess scored the second goal after dribbling through Renbrook’s defense.  Meanwhile, Tyla played with intesity and demonstrated good ball control while played forward for the first time this season.

Other noteworthy performances were contributed by Lexi and Frankie, who tenaciously pursued loose balls and won many fifty-fifty opportunities.  Lily also had an outstanding game, and her coaches were impressed by her hussle and passion on the field.

The victory provided an excellent start to the fall season, and the team is excited to head north to Berkshire School on Friday.
