Goals and assists came from Emma, Jocy, Julia, Esther, and Frances. Julia, Rose, Frances, and Imogen also played outstanding in the midfield. The defensive line of Esther, Paisley, Clarisse, and Anna along with Katherine in net racked up their third straight shutout and sixth shutout of the season.

JV Girls Soccer has consistently been training hard this week. They’ve been working to sharpen their on-field communication and dynamic passing. JV Girls soccer plays their next match on Monday against Berkshire Waldorf at home. Wear your costumes and come support JV Girls Soccer at home on Halloween night.

Boys Varsity Soccer played Salisbury School’s 3rds team on Monday. The score was tied for most of the match, with ball possession going back and forth. With an impressive shot into the top left corner of the net, Marcus scored the game-winning goal and sealed the deal for the Falcons.

Boys Varsity Soccer then went on to rematch Pathfinder FC, a soccer academy out of New York. IMS established a commanding lead at first, going up 3-1 with two goals from Abdul and one from Diego. Pathfinder then tied it up at the half. The second half was a defensive battle. Santi had an outstanding performance in the midfield, going as far as slide-tackling under the opposing players’ legs to pop the ball out from underneath their feet. With his help and from the defense, IMS came home with the 3-3 tie.

JV Boys Soccer had a 9v9 match vs. Washington Montessori School at home on Wednesday. The Falcons played well, and they look forward to a trifecta of games next week to kick off the final month of the soccer season. Wish JV boys soccer luck as they travel to play Berkshire Waldorf,  DDS, and Oakwood Friends next week.

5th and 6th Soccer had a home game vs. Pathfinder this past Friday. Reece made several amazing saves from the net, with help from Raife and Charlotte on the defensive end.

5th and 6th then went on to play Mizzentop on Monday. Raife had a goal and an assist, Jack with an assist, Cormac scored, and  Miles scored a hat trick along with an assist that came one from the middle of the box. It was a back and forth game, with both teams often trading possession of the ball. IMS just barely fell short and went on to play Rumsey later in the week.

The Falcons hosted Rumsey Hall at home on Wednesday. Another competitive game meant that IMS was determined to give it all they got. Cormac had a goal and Miles scored four times, along with the help and assists from Reece, Alice, Raife, and Whitlow. Defense held down the fort in crucial moments. Reece especially made some key saves from net. IMS came out in good spirits with a 5-4 victory vs. their long-time rival.

Cross Country hosted a home meet vs. Rumsey Hall, Dutchess Day, and Washington Montessori School this past Wednesday. The schools competed on a 2.06 mile long course. After running hard on IMS’ undulating terrain, the Falcons came in a narrow second place. Miki came in first, and Jose placed fifth. Margaret PRed by 8 seconds, Jack by 7 seconds, and Andrew by 8 seconds. Congratulations to those three runners for accomplishing the goal of improving their personal record.

Mountain Biking hosted a home race on Wednesday vs. Kent, South Kent, Hotchkiss, and Berkshire. This was the first home race for several on the team and IMS competed against athletes much older than themselves. Congratulations to those new racers for this impressive feat. Cyrus placed 6th in B class, and Greta placed 2nd. Come support Mountain Biking next Wednesday at Hotchkiss.

Varsity Volleyball played on Friday vs. Hotchkiss’ 3rds team. IMS played 2 out of 3 sets, winning the first two 17-25 and 27-29, respectively. Props to Hailey for stepping in as setter and absolutely crushing it. Varsity Volleyball plays Rumsey Hall tomorrow at home. Be sure to support the Falcons in this positively sensational match.

JV Volleyball has established a strong practice routine this past week. Working on their passing and communication skills, the Falcons are eager to get back out on the court. JV Volleyball plays a match on Friday at Rumsey Hall. Wish them luck as they put their skills to the test tomorrow afternoon.

Go Falcons!
