The IMS junior varsity baseball defeated Rumsey on Friday.  The Falcons looked like an entirely new squad during the game, committing only one error and walking only five batters in six innings of play.  The IMS team worked diligently over the previous two weeks to improve their skills and arrived at Rumsey ready to prove what they could do.  It became apparent during the first three innings that this was an IMS team that was ready to play.

Indian Mountain held a 2-1 lead after the first four innings before coming alive at the plate in the fifth and sixth innings.  The Falcons enjoyed outstanding offensive production from Alassane who blasted a three run home run in the sixth inning to give IMS a commanding lead going into the final Rumsey at bats.

Defensively, the Falcons successfully converted six outs, while pitchers Jesse and Chris struck out eleven Rumsey batters.  Chris earned the final three outs of the game on three strikeouts.

IMS plays their next game of the season at Rudolf Steiner on Wednesday, May 5.
