After scoring fourteen runs in the first two innings, Rumsey defeated IMS on their home field.  The Falcons responded to the consecutive hits with five runs of their own but were unable to sustain their offensive attack.

Three errors in the first two innings helped Rumsey to keep their rally alive as ten of their fourteen runs were unearned.  IMS continued to flounder in the field as they gave up another two unearned runs in the fourth inning.  Jack and Max held their heads high as they battled to close these difficult innings from the mound.

In the first inning, IMS scored a quick five runs.  Tim and Chris started the inning with consecutive singles.  Luke, Henry, and Max walked.  These were followed by clutch hits by Jack and Clayton, earning them two RBI’s each.

The Falcons added another run in the fourth, when Tim, who was three for three on the day, led the inning off with a single.  He would score as the third baseman misplayed a ball hit by Chris.

In a last inning effort, the Falcons loaded the bases.  Henry led the rally with a single, followed by another single by Max.  Jack then walked to put runners on each base.  Unfortunately, the Falcons were unable to capitalize as Rumsey recorded the final three outs.

Indian Mountain looks to bounce back from this defeat in their game against Trinity Pawling on Wednesday, April 28.
