The IMS Falcons varsity tennis team hosted Salisbury in their second match of the season on Friday April 23. The Falcons continued their winning ways by defeating Salisbury by a score of 6-1. Playing #1 singles, Maria, defeated her opponent 8-6 in a very competitive hard fought set. Derek (#2 Singles) out matched his opponent right from the start winning 8-0 (Love).  Playing #3 singles, Zach matched-up head-to-head versus a much older opponent but ended up losing 11-9.  Alejandro, playing #4 singles, easily outdistanced himself from his opponent with a score of 8-2. Jason (#5 singles) defeated his opponent 8-4 and Michael (#6 singles) came out victorious 8-2 over his opponent. All six singles players exhibited the skills that they have been working on since the beginning of the season.

In doubles competition, the Falcons #1 team of Derek and Jason overpowered their opponents from the start and came away 8-1 winners. Jack and Orson, playing together for the first time as partners and as the Falcon’s #2 doubles team, came away victorious with a score of 8-1. Luke and Filippo, #3 doubles, also came away victorious by defeating their opponent by a score of 8-2.      

The Varsity tennis team improved to a 2-0 record. The Falcons return to action on Wednesday April 28th when they host their rival, Rumsey at 4pm.
