We are excited to welcome new faculty and staff to our teaching, coaching, residential, and operational teams. Each one of these new community members brings with them unique skills and joy to their roles on campus.

Lisa Sun officially began her tenure as IMS’s eleventh head of school this July.  We are thrilled to have Lisa’s leadership and expertise as we enter this next chapter at IMS. Read more about Lisa here.

Ahmad Cantrell joins IMS as Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Ahmad has an extensive background in EIB work, most recently serving as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Avon Old Farms School. He has also worked as Associate Dean of DEI and Associate Director of Admissions at the Loomis Chaffee School. In addition to these leadership roles, Ahmad is an active member of the community, serving as a board member of the ACLU — CT and as a commissioner for the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools. We are excited to have Ahmad bring his expertise to our community as a leader, educator, coach, and dorm parent this school year.

Prabin Khadka will be teaching in our mathematics department in addition to working as a coach and dorm parent. Prabin is a recent graduate of Hamilton College, where he received his BA in Mathematics and worked as a math department tutor, grader, and community advisor.

Fox Maxwell will also be joining our mathematics department, coaching, and working as a dorm parent this fall. Fox most recently worked as a math teacher and club coordinator at the Nativity Preparatory School in New Bedford, ME.

Madeline McIntire joins our languages department as Latin teacher, coach, and dorm parent. Madeline has a BA in Classics from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada, and received her MA in Greek and Latin from the University of Vermont. She comes to IMS after two years as a teaching fellow at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA.

Joining our Lower Campus, Chloe Mitchell is our new Second and Third Grade Associate Teacher and will also be supporting our Afterschool program. Chloe brings experience, warmth, and thoughtfulness from her most recent post as a long-term substitute teacher at Moriah Central School and has previously taught at Fessenden School and Greenwich Country Day School. 

Meredith Gal joined our Advancement Office this summer as our new Senior Associate Director of Advancement. Meredith comes to us from Canterbury School, where she spent the past six years—most recently serving as Director of Development.

Evan Marquis has joined our IT Department as an IT Support Technician. He will be assisting Mr. Snelling and Mr. Haitsch in enhancing our school security systems and providing direct technical support to students and faculty.

In addition to our talented new team members, we are pleased to announce the role transitions of two returning staff members.

Catherine Quaintance ’14 joined us last year as a part-time tutor and coach.  This year, she embraces a full-time position as a science teacher, coach, and dorm parent at IMS. 

Buildings and Grounds Generalist, Dylan Brownson, has transitioned to working in our Business Office this year as Finance Assistant and AP Manager in addition to continuing to support our Buildings and Grounds team.

We are grateful for the continued growth of our IMS community and look forward to introducing our exceptional new team members to our students this fall.
