Whether they will be teaching, coaching, working in the dorms, or supporting daily school operations and student wellness, we look forward to welcoming a talented group of new faculty and staff to the IMS community this year.

ALL SCHOOL

Danny Hutnick is our new Director of Health and Wellness. He served most recently as a Middle School Social Worker for the Hudson City School District. Prior to that, he worked as a social worker for the New York City Department of Education and was also a field instructor for Albany University’s School of Social Work. With over thirteen years of experience as a licensed counselor, Danny is well equipped to support our students’ emotional well-being, social development, and academic success.

Josh Leary joined IMS as our new Chief Financial Officer this July. Josh is a proud IMS alumnus and is excited to return to the Mountain and put into practice our motto of life through service. Josh most recently served as the Senior Financial and Endowment Analyst at The Hotchkiss School, where he has been an integral member of their business office.

UPPER CAMPUS

Brian Gilloran has joined IMS as our new Athletic Director. Brian comes to us most recently from Vermont Academy, where he served in a variety of administrative and coaching roles, including Athletic Director, Assistant Head of School, Director of Residential Life, Dean of Student Life, and Boys Varsity Soccer Coach. 

Noah Lippa is joining IMS to teach in both the Global Language and English Departments, while also coaching and supporting our boarding community. Noah is a graduate of Boston College with a degree in English Literature and a minor in History. He is also an alumnus of Milton Academy, where he played Varsity Soccer and studied Spanish poetry.

Emma Pottow will be joining our Upper Campus science faculty this school year. Emma comes to IMS from Boston College, where she earned her degree in Biology. She has built a rich background as a summer teaching assistant, a bilingual GED tutor, and a therapeutic horseback riding instructor. Emma is a graduate of Milton Academy, where she co-founded Girls Advancing in STEM and served as the head of the Sustainability Board.

Dr. Christopher E. Tripler is joining our Upper Campus Science Department. Chris holds a Ph.D. in Ecology from Idaho State University and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Connecticut. He brings a rich background of research and college-level instruction, having served as Associate Professor of Biology and Environmental Science at Endicott College, Adjunct Instructor at the University of New Haven, and Summer Portals Instructor at Hotchkiss, alongside extensive published research in forest ecosystems and biogeochemistry.

Kayo Wiggins is an IMS alumnus who has returned to the Mountain to teach in our History Department and support our boarding community. Kayo is already a familiar face in our athletic program, having recently served as our Boys JV Basketball Coach and Varsity Tennis Assistant Coach.

LOWER CAMPUS

Makayla Biddulph will be stepping in as our new Afterschool Coordinator. Makayla is already familiar with our afterschool program, having worked part-time at IMS last year as an afterschool team member and substitute teacher. We’re thrilled to welcome her as a full-time staff member this school year.

Cavan Brady joins us as our new Lower Campus Physical Education Instructor. Cavan holds a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Merrimack College. With recent clinical experience at Undermountain Elementary and a background in collegiate athletics and coaching, Cavan is well equipped to support our students’ physical and emotional development.

Tess Leonard will be teaching Spanish on both the Upper and Lower Campuses this school year. Tess joins us most recently from Scituate High School, where she served as a long-term substitute Spanish teacher. 

Kristina Long joins our Lower Campus faculty as our new Second Grade Teacher. Kristina comes to us from Greenwich Country Day School, with a rich background that includes teaching first, second, and third grades across Greenwich, North Branford, and New Haven. She holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern Connecticut State University, anchoring her deep commitment to elementary student success in advanced educational theory. 

We are pleased to welcome Jessie Weinberg as our new Assistant Head of Lower School. Jessie holds a Master’s degree from Bank Street College of Education and joins us with nearly thirty years of experience in elementary and middle school education. With her classroom roots and specialized literacy expertise, Jessie is well-positioned to step into this administrative leadership role.
