Varsity girls lacrosse played at Ethel Walker on Friday and won with a final score of 12-6. During the first half, the Falcons traded goals with the Ethel Walker squad, and the half ended with the IMS team up 6-3. The Indian Mountain goalie struggled to stop well-placed Ethel Walker shots during the half, but Indian Mountain dominated play for most of the second half, scoring six goals while allowing only half as many.  Tess stepped up her performance in goal during the second half by making three excellent saves. Falcon goals were scored by Devon (3), Courtney (3), Morgan (1), Sophie (2), and Eloise (3).

The Falcons played well throughout most of the game.  Eloise contributed two assists, one to Courtney and one to Devon. Morgan’s goal (a beauty) was assisted by Courtney, and Lexi also had an assist to Courtney. Three of the IMS points were scored off of direct free positions (penalty shots)–one by Sophie, one by Courtney, and one by Eloise. Eloise and Sophie each had two draw controls, and Jane had an interception. Kate stood out by having a great game on offense.  Not only did she work hard on ground ball control, but she excelled in her new role as play arbiter from behind the goal.

The IMS coaches congratulate their players on an excellent game.
