When Sam crossed the finish line on Friday, he recorded one of the fastest times ever recorded on the Rumsey course and finished first overall.  Sam’s outstanding achievement set a standard of excellence his teammates will work diligently to emulate over the next week as they train for the O’Connell Invitational.  The race on Friday was the first competitive meet in which most of the inexperienced IMS team had ever participated. The top IMS runners following Sam were Griffin, Aya, Robert, and Ben, and each athlete gained valuable experience which should make the team more competitive as the season progresses.  Both Coach O’Brien and Coach Zenowitz are optomistic about the team’s chances to succeed this season, and they will continue to motivate the Falcon harriers to develop mental toughness and competitive drive.

The Falcons will fly again on Saturday, October 2, when they attend the O’Connell Invitational at Chesire Academy.
