On Wednesday, the Falcons traveled down Route 44 to play Salisbury. Chilly temperatures and a steady downpour did not impede play as the players used the indoor courts under the Salisbury sports dome.

Alton and John played as Falcons’ #1 doubles team, and they played well, coming away with an 8-4 victory. Lee and Maria teamed up at #2 doubles and defeated their opponents by a score of 8-4. At #3 doubles, Orson and Luke started off strong but ended up losing by a score of 8-3. The Falcons were awarded the doubles competition point and went into the singles match-ups leading 1-0.

Singles competition was played in reverse order with the lower ranked players taking to the courts first. Michael, playing #6, was defeated by his opponent by a score of 8-1. #5 singles player, Jason, battled hard throughout his entire match but came away with an 8-6 loss. Alejandro was displayed impressive hustle as he moved fluidly all over the court from start to finish and came away victorious with an 8-3 score. Derek cruised to an 8-0 victory over his opponent at #3 singles, while Lee, playing #1 singles, battled hard in each of his games but ended up losing by a score of 8-3. With the overall score tied at 3-3, John took to the court at #2 singles knowing that he had to win his match in order for IMS to come away with the victory. John stepped up to the challenge, as he did in the previous match against Millbrook, and outdistanced himself from his opponent to come away with an 8-3 victory to seal a 4-3 win for the Falcons.

With the win, the Falcons improved to a 6-1 record. The team travels to Rumsey on Friday.
