For the second time this season, varsity baseball defeated Trinity Pawling in a one-sided contest.  The Falcons scored fourteen runs in the first three innings; afterward, their bats cooled.  Defensively, IMS played a much improved game, allowing only one unearned run and two hits in five innings of play.

Jack and Max both pitched in the Falcon victory.  Each allowed only one hit while recording eight strikeouts.  In three innings of play, Jack was able to retire hitters with runners in scoring position, taking the steam out of TP’s rallies and potential comeback.  Max entered the game and handily retired the final seven batters in under fifteen pitches.

Nearly all hitters reached base for the Falcons, with ten different people scoring runs in the game.  The offensive highlight included a long two run homer hit by Luke, which cleared the 340 mark in the outfield.  Other ninth graders, including Clayton, Will, Harry, and Jack, recorded RBI’s, runs scored, or hits in the contest, and the Falcons finished their season on a positive note.
