The Falcon varsity baseball team faced off against Rumsey for the second time this season on Wednesday.  Despite a stellar defensive effort, IMS lost 7-0.  In this game, the Falcons displayed marked improvement in their defensive play, but they were unable to string together a number of hits necessary to score a run.

Henry started the game on the mound.  After walking two and striking out one, Henry, a victim of a searing line drive, was relieved by Chris.  Chris finished the following five innings.  He allowed only three earned runs as he efficiently pitched through the Rumsey line-up.  Colin Fuss completed the last two-thirds of the sixth inning.  He shut down the Rumsey attack as he recorded the final out with the bases loaded.

Luke, Jack, and John led the Falcons at the plate, contributing one single each.  The Falcons left base runners stranded in the first and seventh innings as they struggled to get crucial two out hits.

Defensively, Connor made three put-outs at third base, keeping a number of base runners from scoring.  John and Colin made two important catches in the outfield, and Max finished his first game behind the plate, stopping several low pitches from skipping to the backstop.

The Falcons hope to add some offensive thunder to their attack when they take on Berkshire School at home on Friday.
