At IMS, Life Through Service isn’t just our motto—it’s a mindset that guides our actions and priorities. This past year, your generosity embodied that spirit in powerful ways. Your commitment has fueled record-setting philanthropic growth—making this the second-largest fundraising year in our school’s more than 100-year history—strengthening our community and enabling IMS to foster a vibrant experience for every student.
Your generosity continues to make a lasting impact. For the fourth year in a row, we surpassed $1.1 million in Annual Fund contributions, supporting exceptional teachers and vibrant programs. Over the past five years, total philanthropic support has grown 115%, our 1922 Leadership Society has doubled, and this year, commitments have topped more than $5 million, a powerful reflection of our community’s deep and growing commitment to our mission.
Without a doubt, philanthropy has transformed IMS’s landscape. Its impact is visible all around us, creating spaces that inspire learning, creativity, and connection. This year, we celebrated the opening of the Qianxun Performing Arts Center, a vibrant home for performances, community gatherings, and our cherished daily morning assemblies. Events like By Kids, For Kids and the spring musical have already created joyful memories in this beautiful new space. Nearby, the HarvEst Hub is coming to life as a warm and flexible area for receptions, and informal gatherings, offering students opportunities to showcase their talents and deepen connections with one another.
Across both campuses, progress continues in ways that directly enhance students’ daily lives. A new Lower Campus playground and residential spaces, including the fully renovated Richards House, have been refreshed to welcome students back to school. These improvements reflect our collective investment in joyful play, safe and supportive living environments, and a more profound sense of belonging. Last month, the opening of the new Dining Commons marked the completion of a remarkable chapter in IMS history, our Enhancing Community Spaces capital projects. This transformational series began with Centennial Field and then continued with the Morehead Athletic Center followed by the Qianxun Performing Arts Center and HarvEst Hub. The Dining Commons and expanded servery are the bookend to this transformative work: a vibrant, inclusive space that brings our community together through shared meals, conversation, and connection. Thank you for making this vision a reality and for helping to create and shape spaces that strengthen our community.
Your support brings our mission to life and reflects the very essence of Life Through Service. It empowers IMS to thrive, encourages our students to reach higher, and reminds us that every step forward is made possible by the strength of this community.
