Sammi D’Angelo teaches Ninth Grade Applied Biology and Ninth Grade History: Power and Justice through Ancient Civilizations at IMS. She graduated from Hamilton College with a degree in Physics and is passionate about cross-curricular learning and the interconnected nature of science, history, and art. This approach drives her work reimagining the ninth grade capstone Poquonook Solutions Project with Alex Weyerhaeuser to emphasize local sustainability and stewardship. She co-created and facilitates IMS’s Model UN program, MtnMUN, with Caitlin Vaughn and helps lead the Female Empowerment Affinity Group. Outside the classroom, Sammi coaches Varsity Girls Basketball and JV Girls Lacrosse and serves as a dorm parent in Richards Dormitory. She values the balance of academics, athletics, and community life at IMS and is passionate about fostering curiosity, connection, creativity, and growth in her students!
