Nora Yasumura
Faculty
Nora Yasumura holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University. After several years in the counseling field, she spent 13 years at Dartmouth College serving as Assistant Dean of Student Life, Pan Asian Student Advisor in the Office of Pluralism and Leadership, and Admissions Office Reader. She later became the founding director of the Global Community Initiative at Cardigan Mountain School in New Hampshire. From 2015 to 2017, Nora taught Life Skills on both the Lower and Upper Campuses at IMS before joining the Hotchkiss School as 9th Grade Class Dean and Director of Clubs and Affinity Groups. In 2023, we were delighted to welcome her back to IMS as a part-time Upper Campus Health and Wellness teacher and active member of the Equity Team. Beyond her work at IMS, Nora is also a diversity consultant, social justice community organizer, and college advising coach.
