Sarah Breakell
Sarah Breakell began her career teaching 6th grade at New Canaan Country School while pursuing her master’s degree at Bank Street College of Education. She then taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade science at Tuxedo Park School in New York. Since coming to IMS, Sarah has taught both 5th & 6th grade science, 6th grade math, sat on the Steering Committee for our current strategic plan, Courage to Climb, and oversaw the implementation in its first two years. Sarah is currently the Dean of Academics as well as a member of the Science Department as an 8th grade Lab Science teacher. Sarah focuses her work most days on creating the best academic experience for all of the students on the Upper Campus.
