Brian was raised in southern Connecticut and earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University, where he was an athlete, a teaching assistant, and an admissions tour guide. Those experiences helped lead him to a career in independent schools. He began his career at St. Mark’s School before spending over a decade at Vermont Academy, where he served in several roles, including Dean of Students, Athletic Director, and Assistant Head of School. Brian also earned his master’s degree in educational leadership and management from Fitchburg State University.

Brian believes strongly in a holistic approach to education and sees athletics as an important part of helping students grow. He believes every student brings something unique to a school community, and an educator’s job is to recognize, nurture, and build on those qualities. At IMS, he is excited to build an athletic program where students of all experience levels can build confidence, develop resilience, learn to work with others, and become more assured, more visible, and more fully themselves. Brian is excited to be part of the IMS community and lives on campus with his wife and two children. Outside of school, he enjoys being outdoors, staying active, and spending time with his family.
