Indian Mountain School (IMS) and The Hotchkiss School are thrilled to be co-hosting the 2016 Tri-State Mini Maker Faire on the Indian Mountain campus on Sunday, April 10 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Mini Maker Faires are the perfect marriage between science, technology, art, and design, and aim to provide the community at large with a forum for creativity and conversation. We have teamed up to provide the community with a day full of displays and activities that will challenge and delight participants of all ages.

Both IMS and Hotchkiss are committed to growing a culture of Making within the community. The Tri-State Maker Mini Faire will draw upon adult and student Makers from Northwestern Connecticut, Southwestern Massachusetts, and Eastern New York State. There will be opportunities to view the work of well-known artists and engineers. Participants will also be engaged to Make in the moment by experiencing the challenge of balancing a mobile, programming Arduino, or by planting seedlings in pots made by robots.

Kicking off the event will be keynote speaker, Colin Homer Gillespie, President –LEGO® Education North America.

We have a number of community sponsors who are supporting this effort, and we still have room for both adult and student makers. If you are interested in participating as an adult or student Maker, please fill out the Maker form by clicking on the “Makers Apply Here” tab on our website at http://tristatemakerfaire.com. We can also be found on Facebook at Tri-State Mini Maker Faire. Stay tuned for wonderful things.
