Sharon Playhouse is a not-for-profit theater in Sharon, CT, and we’re delighted to have an ongoing partnership with this cultural destination. Through a partnership with the theater’s education department, our students are exposed to many aspects of the performing arts.

This year, thanks to a generous gift, Sharon Playhouse was able to offer an in-depth, after school theater experience throughout the winter and spring terms with our first through fourth graders. Through this extraordinary opportunity, students learned the entire process of putting on a show in once weekly (then twice weekly) rehearsals. Under the direction of Michael Baldwin and Sarah Cuoco of the Sharon Playhouse, and IMS Music teacher Tamra Stephenson, our students learned lines, mastered choreography, rehearsed songs, blocking and more. All the hard work culminated in a full musical production of “The Little Mermaid” on May 25th on the Sharon Playhouse stage. The performances were magical. Congratulations to the young, courageous actors, and many thanks to the Sharon Playhouse and IMS team members who made this experience possible.
