Varsity Tennis played its first game of the season this week against Renbrook. Unfortunately, the team sustained a 5-2 loss. Head coach Mr. Hodosy was very pleased with the effort, focus, and teamwork that the team displayed. He is confident as the season progresses there will be successes along the way!

With a win of 9-5 under a blue sky and bright sun, the Girls Softball Team brought home a victory over Renbrook School. At the top of the first inning, Maddy Lodowski hit a long fly ball to center right field and put two runs on the board with a double. Katie Winston hit a solid single in the second inning. Offensively, the girls were smart with their pitch choices, resulting in a number of walks and not a lot of hitting opportunities. Defensively, all of our girls did a solid job. After pitching two shutout innings, Maddy Lodowski had struck out 6 batters and allowed 1 hit. Addie Kiggen pitched two solid innings and allowed 5 runs, 3 hits, and struck out 6 batters. Both pitchers did a great job! Our catchers were hard at work throughout the game. Una Davis was catcher for the first, second, and fourth inning and did a great job tracking the pitches and protecting the plate. Greta Dunavant stepped in for the third inning catching for the very first time and did a great job throughout a tough inning! We are so proud of both Una and Greta! All of the girls made some great plays either in the field or at bat for the softball team season’s first game!

JV Boys Lacrosse lost 6-2 yesterday. Sy Lin and Branson Figueroa were the scorers. Jake Cole and Russell Soja stepped in net for the Falcons. While it was the first game for many members of the team, and there are clear areas in which we need to improve, the boys played hard, had fun, and never gave up during the game.

Varsity Boys Lacrosse won yesterday 8-3 against the Kent School. Head Coach Mr. Abendroth believes if the team can maintain its offensive rhythm, the varsity lacrosse team can achieve great triumphs this season. With the return of many experienced key players this season, they play a vital role in integrating new players into a disciplined and vibrant team.

Varsity Baseball took advantage of their offensive performance with a win over Eaglebrook to begin the season. Head Coach Mr. Barillaro is extremely pleased with how focused the team is during practices and the commitment for improvement on the field. Mr. Barillaro is confident that if the team continues on its current trajectory, will yield consistent results this season.

Varsity Girls Lacrosse lost their first game to Millbrook 4-3. Coaches Chapman and Halstead are pleased to work with a team of fine athletes. For this season, the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team consists of experienced players. Both coaches are looking forward to working with the team and are excited for the success to come.
