Indian Mountain runners adapted nicely to humid, rainy, and damp conditions to put forth a valiant effort away against Rumsey on Wednesday.  Led by their fiercely determined captain, Sam, the Falcons ran some of their best times on the Rumsey course.  Sam remained undefeated in two seasons of running after placing first in the race with a time of 12 minutes 53 seconds, which was 20 seconds faster than the second place finisher.  The race started out tightly contested between the two squads, but Rumsey’s top five finishers pulled away from the Falcons’ number two runner toward the end of the first mile.  Still, Falcon harriers had some strong contributions.  Joseph completed his best performance of the season on a strong run in which he overcame a number of opposing runners.  The top Falcon finishers were Sam, Jack, Aya, Joseph, Ben, and Kade.  IMS coaches were pleased with their team’s performance, especially given the fact that a number of IMS runners were unable to participate in the meet due to illness or injury.

The cross country team has their next meet on Novemmer 3 at Rumsey against Rumsey, Cheshire Academy, Chase Collegiate, and Dutchess Day School.
