Thank you  to all of the alumni who came “Back to the Mountain” for Alumni Day 2014! The day began with a delicious and hearty breakfast, fueling the crowd for the morning tour. Head of School Mark A. Devey served as tour guide, highlighting all of the key spots on campus and explaining some of the upcoming renovation projects. Just in time for the group to get a break from being on their feet, next came a cookout lunch under the tent, complete with burgers, dogs, BBQ chicken, and ice cream.

The afternoon events took everyone to the new Student Center, where guests enjoyed a Fab-Lab demonstration and robotics lesson led by Science Department Chair Sarah Sprague and faculty member Kitty Hickox. By the end of the lesson, everyone had a chance to build and program a robot!

After the Fab-Lab, the group enjoyed a fantastic tea tasting led by expert tea maker Michael Harney of Harney and Sons Fine Teas in Millerton. After tasting four teas and learning all about tea production, it was time for some downtime before dinner.

The day ended with cocktails and a delightful farm-to-table dinner featuring a variety of local food from McEnroe Farm in Milllerton, NY, Salisbury Breads in Salisbury, CT, and Four Brothers Dairy Farm in Amenia, NY.

It’s never too early start planning your next visit to IMS, so mark your calendars for June 13, 2015 for our next Alumni Day!
