The Indian Mountain boys junior varsity hoops team travelled to Rumsey Hall on Friday afternoon and earned their first victory of the season.  The squad from Indian Mountain got off to a shaky start and committed several turnovers in the first half, but, despite the miscues, IMS led by a score of 13-9 at the half.  When play resumed in the third quarter, the Falcons hit the ground running and didn’t look back.  Paced by the ballhandling of point guard Chris N (4 points total), the Falcons ran the court well and found their way through Rumsey’s zone.  IMS dropped in ten points in a matter of minutes, with Andrew (8 points) and Henry (7 points) grabbing rebounds and scoring their put backs.  Later in the game, IMS had key contributions by Christian (4 points), Kevin (2 points), and Ben (2 points) to put the game away for good, while David once again displayed some nice free throw shooting.  Dimitrios, Sam (2 points), and Cormac played tough defense, helping hold Rumsey to only four points in the second half.

It was a great first win for the team, and the boys are looking forward to their games next week.   On Wednesday, January 20, the Falcons will face Chase Collegiate at home, while, on Friday, the boys will head to Pawling, New York, to take on Mizzentop. Good luck JV boys!
