IMS recovered from their September 24 loss on the road with an impressive 19-0 win against Renbrook in their home opener on Wednesday.  The team averaged 10.5 yards per carry and compiled 220 yards on the ground to dominate time of possession and keep the Renbrook offense off the field.  Max led the running game again as he ran for 115 yards on only five carries.  Chris I. and Auric scored touchdowns, and Auric was also responsible for catching the team’s first interception of the season.

The shutout marked an immense improvement for the Falcon defense, which was much more physical than in the previous game and held Renbrook to only two first downs.  Daniel C. led the defensive charge with numerous tackles and a sack, while Andrew Z. kept up pressure on the Renbrook quarterback throughout the game.

While the IMS coaching staff was pleased with the Falcon’s performance in the first half, the athletes play in the second half they deemed “sloppy,” and they will try to impress upon their players the importance of maintaining focus through every play before the team’s next game.  The Falcon’s will play Berkshire School at home on Friday.
