This summer, IMS offered Art Camp and More! Cecelia Marshall and Sara McChesney led the four fun-filled weeks of creative fun with the help of returning alumna Amanda Lees ’07. Campers enjoyed spending their morning working on various art projects. Some of the projects campers worked on were masks, pet rocks, Sculpy creatures, woven banners, water color pondscapes, and so much more. In the afternoons, campers had the opportunity to play outside and work together on outdoor projects, such as elaborate sand box villages and sidewalk art. When the weather was nice enough, campers had fun playing in the sprinkler, showing off on the slip and slide, and hosing each other down. Twice a week, campers journeyed off site to experience nature’s artwork around the ponds on the IMS Upper Campus and along the stream on Mount Riga. On rainy days, they put their architecture skills to the test as they built complex Lego structures. Some campers spent just one week at Art Camp and More, while others joined us for the majority of their summer. We are looking forward to welcoming new campers next summer and hope to see some familiar faces as well.
