On one of the most picturesque days of the season, the Falcons lost on Friday to Ethel Walker in their final game, 10-6.  Both teams improved a great deal over the course of the season, which was exemplified by excellent ball movement and transitions throughout the game.  IMS started slow while Ethel Walker capitalized on every possession.  Although Indian Mountain’s defense was able to fend off the Ethel Walker attack for the last five minutes of the half, by the whistle Ethel Walker was up 5-1.  Maggie M. was the only scorer for the Falcons, popping one shot into the net just before half time was called.

The IMS girls recollected during half time and went back onto the field with renewed spirit, confidence, and determination in the second half.  Andrea scored only 43 seconds into the half, and, then, Anais followed with a goal of her own only a minute later.  With the score 5-3, it was a whole new game.  Ethel Walker continued to play hard, and possessions changed frequently with both attacks trying to set up scoring opportunities and both defenses sticking to their players.  Ethel Walker rallied with four unanswered goals, but the Falcons never lost heart.  Fuko scored her first goal of the season after a fantastic defensive transition.  Maggie M. added her second goal of the game shortly after.  Anais scored her second goal of the game just before the end.

Morgan and Abby both played stellar defense in goal, wracking up a total of 11 saves.  Elle played a strong game in the midfield with several draw controls.  Fuko also made two interceptions which were key in holding EW to only 10 goals.

Coach Clayton and Coach Sprague couldn’t be more proud of the way the Falcon ended the season.  Thank you to all the parents and fans who supported the team from the sidelines and beyond.
