Varsity Tennis is 2-1 in its last three matches with wins against Berkshire and Kildonan and a loss against Rumsey. Alex Liang has emerged as a great captain and player as the season has progressed. As number one on the ladder, Alex is tasked with taking on the other team’s best and he has held his own every time. Thus far, the team has experienced some unexpected success and coaches and players alike are excited to finish the year strong!

The Softball team has a .500 record this year with their most recent game being a hard-fought win against Miss Halls, 6-5. Behind the plate, Hollis Churchill has been solid, stopping every pitch and making big-time throws when necessary. A team loaded with 9th graders, the girls will be looking to end their IMS careers on a high note as they play their last few games.

Varsity Baseball has had really bad timing this year with many of their games being canceled due to rain. They were able to get a couple games in recently against Masters and Rumsey. Both games ended in defeats for the Falcons, but Coaches Barillaro and Dewey were encouraged by the intensity and grit the team showed. As they come down the home stretch, the team will look to string together a few more strong performances.

JV Boys Lacrosse is 3-1 in their last 4 games with the only loss being a one-goal defeat at the hands of Rumsey. While smaller than almost every team they face, the boys use their skill and finesse to gain the advantage. Adolfo Gonzalez has also been a key component to the success of the team as he stepped into net early in the year and has been facing shots ever since.

Varsity Boys Lacrosse continues to assert its dominance. Over the past two weeks, they have really begun to find their offensive rythym, reaching double digits in goals in three out of four games. Andrew Rainville, Drew Bogardus, and Burke Bogardus have been productive all season and bring a highly intellectual style of play to the team. Jackson Raymond has been great between the pipes and is responsible for keeping the team in games where they were badly outshot. Last Saturday, in a game for the ages, the Falcons traveled to Rumsey Hall for the first game of their two-game season series. After a late surge by Rumsey to tie the game, Isaac Kante netted a well-placed shot in the last minute of the first overtime period to seal the deal for IMS, 9-8.

Varsity Girls Lacrosse continues its roller coaster of a season with two wins and three losses in its last five games. New goalies Chloe Chan and Sophia Marcus have surprised everyone with they affinity for the position and Emma Colley, Kayla Cui, Patricia Daum, and Laila Kennedy have done a great job on defense all year, keeping the opponents away from the net. The girls will look to build on their success so far and are excited for more opportunities to prove themselves.

JV Tennis has had a really strong season thus far and is has won and tied its last two matches, respectively. Jeff Han and Coco Huang have set the tone all season for the team with hard work and practice and playing the other team’s best competition. They will look to finish the season strong with a few matches to go.

JV Baseball has continued to make great progress this season. They have been 1-3 in their last 4 games and were able to come up with a really big win against Eaglebrook. Veteran to the team, Kot Lebedev, has provided valuable leadership for a young team.

The past few matches for the Golf team have shown incredible progress across the board. At the Eaglebrook tournament, a fourth place finish was not indicative of how well they played, with several members losing individual matches by a single stroke. In their next match against Salisbury, they faced a tough opponent but persevered to stay competitive. Michelle Chiang has really come into her own this season and frequently gives the other team’s best player a run for their money.
