Indian Mountain battled an evenly matched Rumsey Hall team in a great game during Parents Weekend. From the first jump ball, it was apparent that the game would finish close.  For most of the first half, IMS held onto a small two point lead, until Rumsey pulled away 14-12 at halftime.

In the second half, Rumsey’s fast break and quick passing continued to prove effective, as they stretched their lead to six points.  With two and a half minutes left in the game, the comeback began.  Love dribbled through Rumsey’s perimeter defense and sank a jump shot.  In the next possession, Nina put a clutch three pointer through the net.  Jenna followed this by banking a shot from the low post as she was fouled.  This put IMS in the lead with 50 seconds remaining.  Kimmie caused a turnover with her pressure defense, as the full court man-to-man scheme kept Rumsey off balance.  IMS forced difficult passes and kept the ball from the hands of their opponent’s leading scorers, until the buzzer signaled the end of regulation.

Love led the team on offense and defense, with eight points and several steals.  Jane scored an important basket early in the game, and Nina finished with five points, scoring for the first time this season.  Kate helped to frustrate Rumsey’s fast break, while Dede played an important role rebounding.  Under the basket, Kimmie and Jenna blocked several shots and added four points each to the team total.  Anna contributed several important assists in this victory which improved the Falcon’s record to 4-2.
