Indian Mountain varsity tennis celebrated Grandparents Day by hosting a talented Millbrook team on Friday.

The Falcons began the day by sweeping the doubles competition. The #1 doubles team of Alton and John outmatched their opponents to come away with an 8-2 victory. Lee and Maria, playing together as the #2 doubles team, outplayed their opponents throughout their match and were victorious by a score of 8-1. Teaming up for #3 doubles were Derek and Jason. They went won by a score of 8-2. The Falcons entered singles competition up 1-0.

In singles competition, Lee, playing #1 singles, lost a well played match to his opponent by a score of 8-6. Playing #2 singles, John, played hard throughout his entire set and went on to claim victory by a score of 8-5. Derek played hard throughout his set but lost against an opponent who did not seem to miss any shots. It was a tough and competitive match-up Derek lost 9-7.  In the #4 match, Maria defeated her opponent by a score of 9-7, while Alejandro battled hard at #5 singles but lost and Jason outplayed his opponent at #6 singles for another Falcon victory that split the singles competition points 3-3 with the Millbrook team.

IMS concluded the match as the victor with a score of 4-3.  The match-up with Millbrook proved to be an exciting one for all spectators who spent their afternoon at the IMS tennis courts. With the victory, the Falcons improved their season record to 5-1. The team looks forward to heading down Route 44 to take on Salisbury next Wednesday.
