IMS parent Cathy Wu hosted President and Mrs. Carter during a conference in China last year and was of tremendous help to the Carter Center staff.  Thus, the Carter Center invited Mrs. Wu and eighth grade IMS student Ken Wu to spend a weekend with the President and Mrs. Carter at their annual winter appreciation retreat in San Diego last February.
