The junior varsity girls lacrosse team took the field ready to battle in the cold Wednesday temperatures and frustrating drizzle against Ethel Walker.

Ethel Walker came out strong, scoring two goals in the first two minutes.  However, Maggie M. answered back with the Falcon’s first goal of the game.  From that point forward, it was a back and forth game as there were many ground balls and several missed opportunities to score on both sides of the field.  Katherine, the steadfast Falcon goalkeeper, made several key saves and made a great effort to begin the transition toward attack.  Elle proved herself a budding center draw specialist with three draw controls in the half.  Annie put one goal in for IMS, and Maggie M. was able to score another to end the half with the score 7-3 in favor of Ethel Walker.

Cold but determined, the Falcons took the field for the second half.  Anais scored the first goal of the half only 23 seconds into the period.  Yu Jin answered an Ethel Walker goal with a goal of her own before Ethel Walker stepped up its attack and took a significant lead.  Annie tried to get the Falcon momentum back with two draw controls and the last IMS goal, but by that time it was too little too late.  The game ended with Renbrook defeating the IMS team, 13-7.

The JV girls next take the field at home on Wednesday against Mizzentop.  First draw is scheduled for 3:45pm.
