Indian Mountain maintained offensive pressure in the match against Berkshire on Friday and fought that older team to a standstill in what amounted to one of the girls’ best games of the season.  Tess scored both of the Indian Mountain goals, but the offensive front had many chances and near misses that just failed to tickle the twine.  Coach Page commented, “We kept the pressure on all of the second half, playing the last forty minutes the best we’ve played as a team all season.  Even our defense had an opportunity or two, pushing up past midfield during the past pressing ten minutes to try and find a win.”

Coach Page suggested that the most noteworthy performance was the all out team effort and went on to describe the contributions made by a number of outstanding athletes.  Lila’s throw-ins, corner kicks, and hustle gave the Falcons quite a few scoring opportunities.  Frankie also had an excellent game playing sweeper, while Lily played determined defense.  Courtney and Devon contributed numerous shots that nearly won the game for the Falcons, while the midfield remained disciplined and determined to move the ball forward.  Alex demonstrated improvement in goal by making the saves that kept IMS in the game until the final whistle.

It was an excellent way to conclude the team’s matchups against Berkshire this season.  The IMS girls will play their final game of the season at home against Westminster on November 3.
