I am pleased to welcome Rebekah Jordan to our Indian Mountain community as the new Head of the Lower School. After spending the last ten years working in Colorado, Rebekah is returning to her home state of Connecticut. She grew up in Cheshire, Connecticut, where her parents still reside, and she attended college in nearby Northampton, Massachusetts.

Rebekah double majored at Smith College, earning an A.B. in Education and Child Study as well as Theater, and earned her Massachusetts license in Elementary Education in grades 1-6. She then earned her M.Ed. in Education and her Education Leadership Certificate at Regis University.

Rebekah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in building organizations from the ground up. She was the owner and director of Colorado Learning Connections, a tutoring and educational consulting business for early childhood, middle, and secondary school students, providing personalized learning programs designed to meet each individual child’s needs. She went on to found and head The Peak School, a 6-12 school where she designed an intentional curriculum pairing experiential learning and high levels of critical thought, initiative, and creativity. She scaffolded the curriculum to ensure strong academic foundations and provide guidance for students to find the explorers, creators, writers, and artists within.

Rebekah is a visionary thinker with expertise in innovation and project-based learning. She not only brings a deep knowledge of elementary child development and research-based initiatives, but she also sees the big picture, understanding that the foundations in critical and creative thought our graduates carry with them, begin in the early years. She is a strong addition to Indian Mountain’s balanced program, which provides a sound traditional curriculum while equipping students with 21st century skills. Bright, warm-hearted, and engaging, Rebekah is primed to collaborate with and lead our outstanding Lower School faculty, who carry a high level of expertise in the classroom.
Please join me in welcoming Rebekah Jordan, who officially joins our IMS team in July.
