The spirit of the holidays abounds within the community here at IMS. In this year’s “Adopt A Family” drive, led by the IMS Community Service Team in support of Salisbury Family Services, children in the Lakeville/Salisbury area will receive presents this holiday season. The students, faculty, and staff of the Upper Campus brought toys and other gifts for each child while the Lower School donated pajamas for each child. Thirty-one children in all will receive a total of 93 gifts and 31 sets of pajamas this year.

Children of the fifth grade raised money to purchase a new bicycle for one child. The students raised extra money by donating their allowances, doing extra chores, and even using money their parents would have spent on their own gifts to help raise enough money.

Additionally, the IMS community decorates the Tree of Warmth, an undecorated tree in the Upper Campus Assembly Hall with new mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves. These items are donated to the Amenia/Millerton Family Services holiday gift baskets and are distributed to those in need in the New York area.

Thanks to all who participated!
